Silver Lake Forest Education Society is a registered charity, and donations are tax deductible!

The full Silver Lake Forest Education Centre is late April through Early November for School outdoor environmental education programs; please also enquire about winter season programs. Each booking offers exclusive use of the facility including full catering and accommodation for 104 in 5 heated cabins and 2 Tipis. There are additional mattresses in our Lodge.

Silver Lake is an inspiring place to learn about the wonders of our Forests. Groups of all ages come to Silver Lake to live and explore the surrounding wilderness. This tranquil and remote lake setting offers groups a unique outdoor adventure experience with all the amenities and comforts. In addition to beautiful natural surroundings we have an EcoFun program that is aligned with the BC School curriculum. We also have a dedicated classroom complete with collection and monitoring equipment, dioramas, Microscopes and field scopes (with prepared slides) telescopes as well as many reference materials. We are happy to assist you in planning your itinerary; Whether your teachers, our instructors or a combination there of will run your sessions.

We are available to help you plan and coordinate your program on-site, and our qualified instructors are available to complement your team for activity leadership and forest education programs.  We offer many ideas on fun, educational activities for your group to use before their trip, while at the Silver Lake Forest Education Centre and for follow-up after the trip.

Two typical 3 day school rentals;

Monday Arrival time: 10:00am (Participants bring bag lunch)
Meals provided from Monday Dinner including Weds. Lunch

Weds Departure time: 2pm

Wednesday Arrival: 10:00am (Participants bring bag Lunch)
Meals provided from Wednesday Dinner including lunch Fri.

Fri Departure time: 2pm

5 or 4 Day rental Departure/arrival and meals variable.


  • Friday- Sunday and Statutory Holidays**
    • Arrival time: 4:30 pm, for dinner
    • Departure time: 3:00 pm, after lunch in our lodge


  • Rates include 3 meals per night rental, an afternoon snack and an evening snack
  • Accommodations include the cabins and recreation hall rooms
  • One host for up to 4 hrs/ day hosting and 4 hrs Instructional
  • All site activity equipment is included as follows: canoes, paddle-boards, archery, axe throwing, basketball/volleyball and low ropes challenge course.
    • Supervision/Instruction of campers is the rental groups responsibility; Our camp host will review basic saftey with your group leaders. Our instructors/life gaurds are available on a per day rate.
  • ***High ropes challenge course is included but requires the hire of one of our instructors at the low day rate OR you provide your own ACCT certified Instructors and fall protection equipment.


  • Meal prices based on the group menu, modifications are subject to additional charges
  • Excessive special dietary requirements may be subject to an additional charge of $3.00 per person, per day
  • Additional Instructors $195/day

*additional meals may be added if it does not conflict with other groups
